-YOUR CHARACTER'S FULL NAME: Marie Schrader
-YOUR CHARACTER'S AGE: 39
-YOUR CHARACTER'S CURRENT EMPLOYMENT SITUATION: Radiologic technologist, wife, Mike's accomplice in the hunt for Heisenberg
-YOUR CHARACTER'S MAIN ASSETS: she is devoted to her husband, is opinionated, imaginative, nurturing
-YOUR CHARACTER'S MAIN FLAWS: kleptomania when stressed, doesn't always practice what she preaches, obsessive compulsive, a bit hyperactive
-AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR CHARACTER'S CURRENT SITUATION :
Marie is currently on the hunt for Heisenberg- and she’s got an unlikely ally in Mike Ahrmentraut. During a particularly weak moment, Marie became a pawn for Mike, who first tried to manipulate her (and then gained her full fledged consent) to take the information Hank already compiled on Walter and turn it into her own reason to take justice on Heisenberg- vigilante style. With Mike’s guidance and her own guts, Marie is trying to do Walter in for good, though she’s yet to succeed.
The problem? Hank, away on a business trip for the D.E.A., has no idea his wife has gone rogue- or that she’s actively jumped in on the case at all, using information he never dreamed she would (for all intents and purposes,) steal from his “office” in the garage. To say that the idea isn’t going to go over well isn’t far fetched- and Marie knows it. She’s walking a tight rope when it comes to her involvement in the Heisenberg mess, but the truth is, there’s too much at stake for her to back out now, so she has every intention of keeping Hank in the dark for as long as possible.
-AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR CHARACTER'S PAST:
Marie was always the one to be wrote off as vapid and perhaps a bit hyperactive- she was the less serious counterpart to the more rambunctious Hank. While she is in no way stupid, Marie preferred to focus on the shallower aspects of life- up until Walter was first diagnosed with cancer. Marie tried to be there for both her sister and her brother-in-law, but often got caught up in her own issues- most of which had to do with her husband, Hank.
As the hunt for Heisenberg began to unfold, Marie at first entertained her husband’s new “pet obsession” as a bit of a passing phase and generally unrelated to her- until it nearly got him killed by the Cousins. Marie was there every step of the way as Hank recovered, and while his obsession began to become all consuming, Marie looked the other way and began to fall back into her own old habits of handling stress- stealing. When Hank finally made the connection between Walter and Heisenberg, Marie found herself suddenly very much involved in the case that once seemed to have nothing to do with her, and has had to come become an somewhat unwitting and unwilling player in the game to bring Heisenberg down.
-A ROLEPLAY SAMPLE :
She could feel her heart pounding. She could practically taste the adrenaline as it rushed through her system, familiar and new all at once. Marie wasn’t by any means new at this game, but every single time felt new- and every single time might as well have been. There were new players, new layouts, new objects, everything as methodically plotted as a game of Risk. The prize wasn’t the point- it was the control. Marie liked to steal not because she couldn’t afford shoes, or bracelets, or gaudy picture frames- no, Marie liked to steal because at the end of the day, she could say that she took control of her life and her surroundings and no one stopped her.
She glanced around. No one was paying her any mind- the shopkeeper was helping another customer, and the only other person inside the immediate area was a seven year old kid, no doubt the son of the woman at the counter. Marie’s fingers rested on the tabletop, pulling out her phone to casually scroll through it as if she were reading a message. Once she was assured that no one truly was watching, her free hand reached out and closed around the glass fox. It was an ugly little thing, she had to admit- all strange angles and odd shades of orange and red. Its ears seemed oversized for the small, pointed head, but it didn’t matter. The fox was the only thing Marie would leave with- her mind had been made up since she had entered the store. She might not like the fox, and if truth be told, it would probably never grace a single surface in her house, but this was the prize to end all prizes. Nothing else would be acceptable.
She slid the fox toward the edge of the table, and one last scan of the room allowed her to sweep it expertly into her bag. For a moment, the pounding of her heart became a reckless cacophony- but it died off, soon after. No one had seen her. No one noticed the fox missing. Once again, Marie Schrader had won. She had proven that she was not someone to be underestimated, to be pushed into the background as a vapid afterthought. Smiling smugly, the brunette’s step was much lighter as she gave the shopkeeper a casual wave and bounced out of the store, her bag one ugly fox heavier, but her spirits immensely lifted.
