So what did you guys think about the finale? I have to admit, it wasn't at all what I was expecting- not nearly as many people died as I predicted.

I honestly thought a lot more people too. But I am glad that Walt got to see his family. Especially Holly. That was the greatest. Plus then killed all the assholes. I was really rooting for him tonight. I did like the fact that he saved Jesse. It shocked me at first, but then I think he saved him because of old times sake and he was the one who'd gotten him into the entire situation. Though I didn't think that Jesse would kill Todd. That was unexpected for me. I thought he was going to kill the Swartzs. Brandon and Skinny Pete. Awesome way to bring them back. I don't think Walt is dead though. And I KNEW he was going to reveal where Hank and Gomez's bodies were. That was a guarantee. He didn't want them dead. He called off the hit.

Much like in the case of the previous few episodes, I thought the ending seemed very rushed in some respects, but I'm still proud of Walt for his choices. He told Skyler the truth about how it felt to do the things he did for the entire year and a half. He admitted he did it for himself; and that's strong proof of the growth of his character throughout all the mind-numbing events that all took place in one dizzying swirl. Plus the way he killed Todd's gang goes to show he's a total genius - and I'm also glad he let Jesse live and that Jesse was true to his own nature and didn't fire the bullet either. That was evidently partly because killing Walt would be doing him a favor - but it was also blatant in Pinkman's eyes that he felt SOME level of grief he'd probably rather die than admitting he felt at that moment as he knew Walt was in his last moments.
I'm also glad that he gave Skyler information to trade for her freedom - and even though we don't get to see what happens to her, I do strongly hope she gets out of trouble. I always thought she was a strong character with a very peculiar but fascinating evolution.
Oh and part of me wishes the hitmen hadn't been Badger and Skinny Pete. Something about the scene with Elliott and Gretschen was so very stylish I caught myself thinking it was one of the best moments of the series hands down.
Anyhow, my take on this is that it could've lasted a few more episodes. Still we grabbed a lot of inspiration from that show so regardless of the fact that it stopped airing, we can still follow this inspiration, and that's a great gift from the writers and cast.

I was shocked that they even used Skinny Pete and Badger, I just thought that they were gone. You know. They didn't have Jesse and Walt to sell for anymore. So their part was done. They weren't hitmen though. Just laser pointers. Used to scare them. He knew they couldn't do it. And he wanted the money to get to his family so he would never kill Gretchen and Elliot. He needs them. I love the way that she shook his hand it was like "Don't touch me."
We have grabbed a lot of inspiration for the board and I think wow, so much to go on. We can go on for a long time. I also love that they didn't show Walt actually die. I really thought he was going to cook his final batch. Cuz he was 'alive'

I might get a lot of flack for this but I never was that into Skinny Pete and Badger, especially when they go off on endless rants about Star Trek. I wish they had been replaced by actual hitmen and that Walt had used someone else than his ex "partner" to take care of the money situation; after all they didn't deserve to be trusted with much in the end. At least in my PoV which I reckon should've been Walt's too - after what they said on television. Plus with the amount of money they have, they certainly could afford very reliable protection. Sure, they'll always be terrified to put one foot in front of the other wherever they end up, but they could get some semblance of cover-up. I'm looking forward to getting Gretschen in the game in our storyline. I have some ideas for her that I might throw in that member's direction; Walt wants to re-launch Gray Matter atm. Gretschen claims Elliott is "dead" and she's acting every bit like a drug addict, but she could very well be faking all this and be a source of information on the inside for the D.E.A. or the police. Or she could actually be truly changed by her husband's death but torn in between the possibility of taking Walt down and the fact that she's found new ways to finance the company and get her fix... I think both avenues are terrible and should be fun to write. XD
It would certainly have been somewhat hilarious if the police had walked into Walt cooking a batch of Blue and then dropping dead. I do have some doubts about whether or not he's "actually" fully dead. And that does lead to some inspiration for how some things could pan out for the forum, and I gotta agree on the fact that we could certainly keep going as long as we want to.
